Parent & Family Support Advisor
Part Time Permanent - Grade E (pro rata Term Time 38 weeks)
Hours – 35 hours per week (£21,485 - £23,408 actual)
We are looking for a passionate Parent and Family Support Advisor who would like to come and join our friendly and supportive team at Buddies Childcare which is situated on site at Glen Park Primary in Plympton. We are looking for someone to play an important role in supporting children and families at Buddies Childcare and across the Glen Park Primary school community, in making the most of their education and strengthening communications between home and school.
The role will be varied, and the post holder will be required to work directly with children, their parents/carers and other agencies and services. This post involves liaison with parents around home and school based issues as appropriate. You will have an involvement with children on a daily basis.
We are looking for someone who can:
- Work in partnership with families offering listening, advice and guidance in order to develop and enhance parenting skills and encourage them to take an active part in their child’s learning
- Improve the quality of communication between the school and home, so that parents and carers actively support the school in the maintenance of good behaviour and attendance.
- Deliver parenting programmes to support families within the school community and provide wider opportunities through organised events
- Promote a positive, optimistic attitude to learning and achievement within the school, acting as a role model with children, families and the wider community.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children in the 2-11 range and have knowledge of local and national agenda relating to safeguarding and emotional health and wellbeing.
The role will be directly responsible to the Directors of Buddies Childcare. Visits to the setting are welcomed and encouraged.
